The Croft

Project Name – The Croft

Building Category – Residential

Location – Devon

Architect – Cassell Tarring

Set within a picturesque coastal village in Devon, this project occupies an exceptional position overlooking the beach and surrounding coastline. The architectural design makes the most of this setting, with extensive glazing used to bring natural light deep into the property and create uninterrupted connections between the interior spaces and the landscape beyond.

We were appointed to deliver the architectural glazing package, working closely with the architects to ensure the glazing complemented the design intent while meeting the demanding requirements of a coastal environment. The emphasis was on clean, minimal detailing, carefully considered sightlines and a refined finish that allows the architecture and views to take centre stage.

Throughout the project, we paid particular attention to the proportions and alignment of the glazed elements, creating consistent sightlines across the elevations and maintaining a crisp, contemporary appearance. The selected frame colours and finishes were carefully considered alongside the wider palette of the property, helping the glazing sit naturally within the coastal setting while providing a durable, high-quality finish.

The large glazed openings maximise the impressive views towards the beach, while the slim, precise framing creates a sense of openness without compromising the architectural character of the building. Internally, the glazing provides a light-filled environment with strong visual connections to the coastline, while externally the restrained detailing allows the building to sit comfortably within its surroundings.

Working alongside the architects and wider project team, we delivered the glazing from bespoke manufacture through to installation, ensuring each element was accurately fitted and finished to the required standard. The result is a considered architectural glazing scheme that combines performance, precision and understated aesthetics, making the most of this unique coastal Devon location.
