We provided the bespoke architectural aluminium glazing products for the new orangery on this signicant country manor house. The main manor house is Grade II listed but the Client wanted a new Orangery with a light and airy feel to overlook the grounds of the house.

We were approached by Jonathan Rhind Architects to provide quality aluminium glazing products that would meet all of the requirements of the Client and those of it’s surroundings too. An impressive rooflight was also required on this project and we were able to utilise our design and planning service. We then presented our ideas to Jonathan Rhind Architects and secured the project.

Key Challenges

A challenge was to ensure the glazing products were not only functional to the needs of the space but also integrated seamlessly into the magnificent surroundings whilst being a feature in their own right. This Grade II listed building was transformed with a new Orangery. The Client was keen for the Orangery to feel like part of the expansive grounds it overlooked so the ASS70 folding system fitted the brief perfectly. We designed an impressive rooflight for the Orangery using the FWS50 curtain wall system so the area could be flooded with natural daylight and have an “outdoors” feel. Tilt and Turn windows were also used from the AWS70 so the area had some ventilation on those typical English days but could also be opened up fully on the nicer days.

Schuco products were a perfect solution for this project due to their varied range, quality and versatility. The Client was extremely satised that their brief was met by just one Supplier – Schuco.

Jonathan Rhind Architects presented the brief perfectly to us and we are able to quickly identify the products we felt would be most suited to the design.
